Using the Audit Log

How to review the complete record of all actions taken in C2 Vault.

The Audit Log is an immutable, read-only record of every significant action taken in your C2 Vault account. It cannot be edited or deleted, ensuring a tamper-proof compliance trail.

What Gets Logged

The audit log records actions across all areas of the system:

  • Receipts — Created, edited, or deleted.
  • Dispenses — Created, edited, or deleted.
  • Inventory — Products created, updated, or deleted.
  • Stock Adjustments — Created, edited, or deleted.
  • Manual Overrides — Applied or cleared.
  • Threshold Changes — Reorder threshold updated.
  • User Actions — Logins, logouts, and failed password attempts.
  • User Management — Staff accounts created or deleted.
  • Settings — Pharmacy settings changed.

What Each Entry Shows

Every audit log entry includes:

  • User — The name and role of the person who performed the action.
  • Action — What was done (e.g., "Receipt Created," "Stock Adjustment Created").
  • Timestamp — The exact date and time.
  • Old Values / New Values — What the data looked like before and after the change.
  • Justification — For actions that require it (adjustments, overrides).
  • Password Confirmed — Whether the user confirmed their password for this action.

Filtering the Audit Log

Use the filters at the top to find specific entries:

  • Date Range — Narrow to a specific time period.
  • Action Type — Filter by the type of action.
  • Table — Filter by area (Receipts, Dispenses, Inventory, Stock Adjustments).
  • User — Select one or more staff members to see only their actions.

Exporting the Audit Log

Click Export to download the audit log as CSV, Excel, or PDF. The PDF export includes your pharmacy header and is suitable for regulatory inspections. You can also save it to the Reports page.
