Setting Up Your Pharmacy
How to complete your pharmacy profile with the required regulatory and business information.
Overview
After creating your account and verifying your email, you must complete your pharmacy profile before logging receipts or dispenses. This includes entering DEA registration details, state license information, and other compliance-related data.
The Setup Checklist on your dashboard tracks completion status and guides you through remaining configuration steps.
Before You Begin
Have the following information ready:
- DEA registration number
- DEA expiration date
- State pharmacy license number
- State license expiration date
- NCPDP number (optional)
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of all data entered into the Application.
Step 1: Review Pharmacy Information
Your pharmacy's basic information was auto-populated during registration using your NPI number. Review and confirm the following:
- Legal Name — Your pharmacy's registered legal name.
- DBA Name — "Doing business as" name, if different from the legal name.
- Street Address — Your pharmacy's physical location.
- City, State, Zip Code — Complete address details.
- Phone — Your main contact number.
- Timezone — Used for timestamps on all records and audit logs.
If any information is incorrect, update the fields manually before continuing.
Step 2: Complete Legal & Compliance Details
Navigate to Settings > Legal & Compliance and enter the following:
DEA Registration
- DEA Number — Your Drug Enforcement Administration registration number (format: two letters followed by seven digits, e.g., AB1234567).
- DEA Expiration Date — C2 Vault will alert you when your registration is approaching expiration.
State Pharmacy License
- State License Number — Your state pharmacy license number.
- License Expiration Date — C2 Vault will alert you when your license is approaching expiration.
Optional Information
- NCPDP Number — Your 7-digit National Council for Prescription Drug Programs identifier.
Click Save after entering all information.
C2 Vault validates the format of DEA numbers to help prevent data entry errors. If the system flags an issue, double-check your entry before proceeding.
Editing Pharmacy Information
Only users with the Admin role can edit pharmacy and compliance information after initial setup.
Compliance Reminder
Completing your pharmacy profile does not replace required DEA or state recordkeeping obligations. You remain responsible for maintaining accurate records, completing required physical inventory counts, and complying with all applicable federal and state controlled substance regulations.
