Editing and Deleting Receipts

How to correct or remove a receipt record.

Overview

If you made a mistake when logging a receipt, you can edit it to correct the information. If a receipt was logged in error, you can delete it to remove the transaction and adjust inventory accordingly.

All edits and deletions are recorded in the audit log for compliance purposes.

Editing a Receipt

If you made a mistake when logging a receipt, you can edit it:

  1. Navigate to the Receipts page from the sidebar.
  2. Find the receipt you need to correct.
  3. Click the three-dot menu icon on the right side of the receipt row.
  4. Select Edit from the dropdown menu.
  5. Update the fields that need correcting.
  6. Click Save.

All edits are recorded in the audit log, including what was changed, the old values, the new values, and who made the edit.

Deleting a Receipt

To remove a receipt:

  1. Navigate to the Receipts page from the sidebar.
  2. Find the receipt you need to delete.
  3. Click the three-dot menu icon on the right side of the receipt row.
  4. Select Delete from the dropdown menu.
  5. A confirmation modal will appear: "Delete Receipt - Password Required."
  6. Enter your staff password to confirm.
  7. Click Delete Receipt.

Deleting a receipt reduces the product's stock by the quantity that was originally recorded. The deletion is also recorded in the audit log for compliance purposes.

Adding Notes

Each receipt has a notes section where you and your team can leave comments. Use notes to add context like delivery condition, lot numbers, or anything worth documenting.

To add a note:

  1. Navigate to the Receipts page from the sidebar.
  2. Click the document icon in the NOTES column for the receipt.
  3. Enter your note.
  4. Click Save.

Notes are visible to all users and are included in the audit trail.

Approval Requirements

Depending on your role, editing or deleting receipts may require approval from a pharmacist or administrator before the changes are finalized. See the Adding Your Team article for details on which roles require approval.
